The Mega Millions jackpot is now over $1 billion

DES MOINES, Iowa — A massive Mega Millions lottery jackpot reached $1.02 billion Tuesday night after all six numbers didn’t match and won the top prize.

The new projected jackpot will be the fourth largest lottery prize in the country.

The jackpot has grown so much that since April 15, no one has matched the six selected numbers of the game. It is 29 consecutive drawings without a major winner.

Tuesday’s points were: 07-29-60-63-66, Mega Ball: 15.

The $1.02 billion prize is for winners who choose the annuity option, which is paid annually over 30 years. Most winners opt for the cash option, which amounts to an estimated $602.5 million for the next drawing on Friday night.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302.5 million.

Mega Millions operates in 45 states as well as Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Played in the Virgin Islands. The game is coordinated by state lotteries.
